Lost in the saga of Michael Jordan is his time spent with the United States Olympic Team between college and his first game with the Chicago Bulls. Despite being one of the best players in the world, he still had to try out for the squad. Here Jordan is pictured, still technically a student at UNC, as the first player pictured next to the coaches in the fourth row from the bottom, third person from the left. A glossy original issued as part of the event, this is a two photo set from the estate of one of the coaches involved. To the best of our knowledge, these were not given to newspapers or periodicals and were just offered to the men involved in the program which took place at the University of Indiana between April 17-22, 1984. An extremely rare "pre-rookie" Jordan team photo and one that pictures him in a uniform we have never seen before. The image also clearly pictures Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Joe Dumars and other stars as well among the sea of about a hundred hopefuls! This was one hell of a team!
