Despite being the most anticipated film of all time, images from the original 1939 theatrical release of "Gone with the Wind" are weirdly scarce. In all the years we have been digging through archives and collections looking for vintage photographs, this is one of only a handful of completely original images of Vivien leigh in costume as "Scarlett O'Hara" we have ever seen. A production still showing Leigh in costume from a scene near the beginning of the film (before the War), this is crystal clear and bold with exceptional tones. Despite some light creasing and handling wear, this image is the best from this important film we have ever handled.
