Original 1952 photograph of young Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle of the Yankees as he celebrates in the locker room with Allie Reynolds and Johnny Mize after their game four victory in the World Series. Mantle hit a triple, Reynolds threw a shutout, and Mize hit a homer in the victory. Cool posed photo of the three stars, Mantle is the star here in his first full season in majors making a huge impact for the Yankees. The photo is a crystal clear specimen off the original negative but appears to have been developed a bit later, perhaps in the 1960's as it has a fiber back and a gelatin surface which generally points to 1960's photography. A perfect 10/10 from mantle's career and one of his finest 1952 images we have ever seen!
