Claude Hendrix seemed like the future of baseball. He won 24 games as a rookie in 1912 for the Pirates, then took his talents to the Federal League where won 29 games and led the league in 1914. Back in the big leagues here, overwork and poor conditioning got the better of him. He would rebound in 1918 to another great year (20-7) but that would be it. Three Hall of Fame seasons in a career that lasted ten years, but still a really good player who deserves to be remembered. The offered large photograph captures him in 1916 as he jumped back to the majors with the Chicago Cubs and showing off his pitching form. Taken by Charles Conlon and stamped on the back, this is perhaps the finest image of him we have seen!
