Stunning 1906 photograph of Harry Steinfeldt, recently acquired by the Chicago Cubs and appearing in uniform with the team during spring training making this possibly his first image ever taken with the club. From the estate of a local Chicago sportswriter who took the image, it also comes with the newspaper photo that the image was used to make. One of the more well known plyers of his era because of his connection to "Tinkers, Evers and Chance" but also for being a really good player, he would lead the league in hits and rbi this season while batting .327! A rare player to find quality images of, this is perhaps his greatest in the world and the only example of this photograph that exists. The quality of the image is unimprovable and the condition is fantastic. Prewar photography does not get any better than this!
