When young Michael Jordan stepped into this photography session n 1981 with the rest of his teammates from the University of North Carolina, we was eager and filled with hope for his future. Nobody, not even Jordan, could have imagined what he would accomplish over the next twenty years. A powerful piece of photography that shows the basketball star fresh out of high school and looking every bit the eager teenager, this was issued by the University and sent to select newspapers as part of their "press kit" and not nationally distributed making it incredibly rare. We estimate that perhaps 10 of these have survived with this being the ONLY example of this photograph we have ever seen. Compared to a 1986 Fleer card of which hundreds have been graded '10' and those now sell for over half a million dollars! One of the more important photographs we have offered and one that is sure to rank among the greatest images of Jordan in North Carolina uniform to ever hit the auction block!
