Large 1927 photograph of Lou Gehrig taking a break during his trip with the "Larrupin Lou's" to play in a sandlot game with a bunch of kids. Lou is wearing a sleeveless t-shirt and showing off his guns for the camera and he takes some time to hang out with a tiny little buddy who has no idea he is in the presence of greatness. A touching image from the estate of manager Christy Walsh who put the tour together, this photo is one of three different known of Gehrig playing ball with kids on this tour and wearing the white t-shirt with this being the rarest of the bunch. This is the only example of this photograph we have ever seen anywhere. Photo has some handling wear and a rip on the upper left but it presents really well. We have been given additional information that the child in this photograph was one of agent Christy Walsh's kids which is a cool touch!
