One of the most incredible and lasting images ever taken on the diamond is that of a sobbing Lou Gehrig as he recounts his days with the New York Yankees, proclaiming himself "the luckiest man on the face of the earth" despite a terminal illness. A rare image in any form, this is a c. 1970's re-strike which still has some serious age to it.
