1919 Portrait photo of "Big Bill" James who was supposedly a clean member of the Chicago Black Sox. The photo was taken during that famous World Series and is one of the best of James that exists, the only example by Conlon we have handled. James would later be implicated by Chick Gandil (one of the Black Sox) for throwing games for money so his ultimate guilt or innocence is still somewhat in question. Stamped on the back by Charles Conlon, the image is clean and clear with corner chipping being the only flaws.
