Impressive 1910's (c. 1915) batting photograph of Louisville Colonels young hitter Joe McCarthy as he dreamed of making the major leagues. He would do so, but probably not in the way he would have thought when this rare picture was taken. McCarthy would soon shift to manager and then make it to the show in 1926 starting a career that would end up landing him in Cooperstown. McCarthy is talked about as perhaps the greatest manager of all time and this is one of the only images showing him as a player that exists. A clear and bold masterpiece, this is a silver gelatin original that comes pre-certified by PSA as a "Type 1" and comes with a full letter as well.
