1957 ABC television studio photograph of young Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. as he was set to appear on national television (we believe for the first time ever) for a program titled "Open Hearing." A completely vintage image used to promote the show, this is from the time period where King was starting to gain some attention as a leader in the movement. Despite a crease on the upper left corner, the image presents well with most of the original paper caption present on the back. Images of King from the 1960's can be found but anything from the 1950's is very tough to find with this being the first example of this 1957 photograph we have ever handled!
