1920 Statuesque batting photograph of the greatest right handed hitter who ever lived, Rogers Hornsby in full uniform for the St. Louis Cardinals. Hornsby was well on his way to a Hall of Fame career when this image was captured, but he was still in the midst of capturing his FIRST batting title! Taken by photographer Charles Conlon and the reverse carries his handwritten notes. This is one of his better known images and perhaps the greatest Hornsby out there and it captures the action with tremendous artistic appeal and accuracy! The clarity of the photo is perfect and although it has a crease and a couple corner clips (done for artistic purposes at a newspaper archive) the image presents better than the technical grade. One of the greatest images of the most underrated baseball star of all time!
