Large 1918 posed action photograph of the greatest pure hitter of all time, Ty Cobb as he demonstrates his bunting form for photographers at the ballpark in full uniform. A rare WWI era photograph of Cobb, the Tigers only wore this uniform in 1918 and 1919 making this an iron clad pre-1920 image of the most desirable player in the game not named Babe Ruth! A new discovery we have never seen before and possibly unique, this is a deep and clean silver gelatin original that grades a perfect 10/10 as it was preserved in a scrapbook for years. The reverse of the image is properly aged for the vintage of the print and it has some light remnants of glue but it is clean and free of any damage. The quality of the image is exceptional with clarity so deep that the frayed edges of the tape on the bat handle can be seen as well as the threads on his jersey. One of the top handful of Ty Cobb images we have ever had the pleasure of offering and an ultra rarity that grades a 10/10!
