Images of the newly completed Yankee Stadium in 1923 are coveted among collectors, but can be found from time to time. This photograph shows the construction of the stadium from one of the earliest dates known, July 1922! In the photo titled "Huge Stadium in McCoombs Dam Park Near Completion" shows the lower grandstands being built. it is incredible to think that this barren ground, muddy and filthy looking, with a few pieces of wood sticking up would be the great Yankee Stadium in a year! Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back, this is one of the most important images of the "House that Ruth Built" ever offered!
