1956 Batting photograph of the great Yankees Slugger Mickey Mantle during Spring Training. This is from the photo shoot that was used to make his 1958 Topps All Star Baseball Card! They took a photo of Mantle batting from each side of the plate, seconds apart, and chose the right handed image for the card. This however is the ONLY left handed example from this shoot we have ever offered. Images of Mantle that were used to make his baseball cards or from the documented photo-shoots are EXTREMELY rare with this being one of his most iconic batting photos ever taken. Stamped on the back as coming directly from the Yankees, this is a vintage photograph off the original negative. Condition is very nice with some light creasing at the bottom. Offered here for the first time ever pulled directly from a newspaper archive!
