1955 Seemed like it would be the same old story for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Winning the National League Pennant and a match-up with the Yankees in the World Series only to see their hopes dashed yet again. The Yankees won the first two games and the collective thought in Brooklyn was "here we go again"... but this time the Dodgers rallied and won three straight games and ultimately the title. Their place in history secure, their fans have rallied around this championship with a fervor never before seen of any fan base and anything related to the 1955 Dodgers is highly sought after. The offered photograph is their classic team photograph in uniform and taken at Ebbets Field but this one is an extremely rare Oversized work of art! Jackie Robinson is seen at the far right standing on a foldout chair while a young pitcher named Sandy Koufax is seen third from the left (middle row). This is a spectacular rarity in its current size and it is completely vintage with a stamp on the back from the Daily Mirror. Image quality is perfect and the photo has some minor wear from handling being the only flaw. One of the best '55 Dodgers team photos out there.
