While Paul Robeson is best known today for his acting and ground breaking roles as a black entertainer and artist, he was first an amazing Football player. An All American at Rutgers, Robeson then spent time in the early NFL as well breaking barriers down with his friend Fritz Pollard. The offered image is a wonderful c. 1940 studio photograph of Robeson which is among the greatest ever taken. A double weight masterpiece stamped on the back from his role in "Othello" and by the Vandamm Studio.
