Only eighteen players in major league history have hit four homers in a single game. The sixth to do it, was Gil Hodges the Dodgers first baseman who accomplished the feat on August 31, 1950 against the Boston Braves. Here he is in the dugout, just a few minutes after the game holding up four fingers for photographer Frank Mastro to memorialize the day. An important piece of baseball history in great shape that we have never had the pleasure of offering before!
