Ping Bodie was a great baseball Player who got his nickname from the sound his 52 ounce bat made when it hit the ball. He was a Major Leaguer from 1911-1921 but he was Babe Ruth's first Yankees Teammate in 1920 and there are MANY stories about Babe and Ping hitting whorehouses and shutting down saloons from this era! The offered photo captures Bodie before Ruth came and he was the slugger of the Yankees, issued by the Western Newspaper Union and in nice shape overall.
