Original c. 1910 silver gelatin photograph of the greatest hitter of the deadball era, Ty Cobb as he poses proudly next to his new car. Cobb's love for automobiles is widely documented but this is an automobile we can not find anywhere. It is a clearly older model and has the look of a 1910 body style and through some help from one of our bidders, we have been able to identify the automobile as an EARLY electric car made in Detroit! Cobb is seen wearing a classic ice cream suit from the Victorian era topped off by a straw hat which was also popular around 1910. The condition of the photo looks great with one small chip and quality of this photo is perfect. This is certainly the only one known as it appears to be a candid photograph and not something from a mass-produced news service. An exciting new discovery offered here for the first time!
