Large 1954 photograph of the famed "Roy Campanella All Stars" as the MVP catcher gathered a group of former Negro Leaguers to travel and barnstorm to make some money and spread integration throughout the country! Here they are seen in their various major league uniforms as they arrived in Hawaii for a series of games with the islanders (who were a bit more progressive). Included in the image are familiar major leaguers like Campanella, Larry Doby, Junior Gilliam and Don Newcombe but also more obscure Negro Leaguers like Othello Renfro, Dave Hoskins, Jim Pendleton, Bob Boyd, Harry Simpson, George Crowe etc. A rare original image that was done on double weight paper over sixty years ago making it a fantastic specimen in great shape. The original paper caption on the back is a nice touch as well as the handwritten credit by the original photographer (who was quite famous in his own right) E. F. Collins of Hawaii!
