Lou Gehrig was already one of the best baseball players in the world in 1923 despite the fact that he was still in college. The offered photograph is his most famous image in uniform for Columbia University and pre-dates his baseball rookie cards by several years. While the photograph here is a later re-strike (c. 1960's) it is one of the more important images of the Iron horse we have ever taken and ANY example before the advent of computers and mass production devices are quite rare. Condition is perfect and this has the look and feel of an original from 1923 at first glance.
Designation: Non-Vintage (1960's)
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
