Today the idea of collecting signatures of baseball legends is second nature, but in the 1940's it was a novelty. One restaurant owner however took advantage of his food being popular among the top players visiting Boston and got them to sign their checks for keepsakes and has some of them on display here for a photographer. Included front and center is the signature of Babe Ruth (looks like he ate shrimp, filet mignon, fries, rolls and a salad) as well as Tris Speaker, Hank Greenberg, Joe Gordon, Stan Musial etc. A cool photo that is one of the first to highlight baseball autographs that we know of!
