Extremely early c. 1910 (possibly earlier) batting photograph of young Hall of Famer Eddie Collins as he poses for a Detroit photographer. A magnificent piece of pre-war photography, this is a silver gelatin masterpiece. Collins is by far the most underrated player in baseball history and this is one of his best photographs ever offered for sale! Note the filing date on the back of 1919 is present on ALL Detroit News photographs taken before that date as that is the year they started archiving their photographs in their morgue. One of the best images of Collins to hit the market in some time.
