Lot Description  

1920 Silver gelatin photograph of Walter Mails, star pitcher for the World Champion Cleveland Indians seen wearing the black arm band the team wore after shortstop Ray Chapman was killed. This uniform places this absolutely during the end of the World Championship 1920 season! Condition is not bad with a few creases that barely break the gelatin surface and the image is large and bold. Quite possibly the greatest image of Mails that exists!
