Some leagues were quick to integrate after Jackie Robinson first took the field for Montreal in 1946. Others, like the Evangeline League in the deep south, were not. Here are the first two black players to break the color barrier in the league, nearly ten years after Jackie paved the way in 1954. The players who were blazing the trail were Julio Bonilla and Tony Taylor of the Texas City Pilots along with their new manager Malone "Bones" Taylor. An important image that is being offered here for the first time ever.
