1960 Photograph of the Pittsburgh Pirates team in uniform after capturing the National League pennant. While they were a good squad, few gave them much of a chance against the powerful New York Yankees in the upcoming World Series. The Pirates behind a dramatic home run from Bill Mazeroski and some timely pitching would capture the hearts of the country by winning in thrilling fashion and becoming one of the most famous teams in baseball history. Issued by the United Press and with a full paper caption on the back, this is actually a rare image as most Pirates team photos came through the wire by 1960! Photo presents well with a light crease on the right side of the image.
