The 1970 death of Keith Sapsford captivated the world, not just for his death, but for the weird coincidence in which it was photographed. A fourteen year old boy, Keith wanted to see the world and hid in the wheel compartment of a Japan Airlines flight. On takeoff, the suction was too much and he was pulled from the plane and fell to his death. Amazingly, a person on the ground wanted a picture of the flight and snapped it just at the time the boy fell, inadvertently capturing the moment and creating one of the most iconic pictures of the era. This is an original example dated on the back from 1970 and identified on the back as the work of the photographer John Gilpin! This is the only vintage example of this photograph we have ever seen and it grades nearly perfect!
