1897 Cabinet photograph of the Milwaukee Brewers of the Western League by the H. Hercher Studios of Milwaukee. The image captures fifteen team members in uniform highlighted by their young player/manager Connie Mack at center. Mack would become one of the greatest figures in the history of baseball and images of him as a player are extremely rare. The image also captures several other former and future major leaguers like Adonis Terry, Farmer Weaver, George Nicol, Bert Myers, Jack Taylor, Cowboy Jones, and Tom Daly among others. A completely original specimen which presents beautifully noting that the image portion is perfect while the cabinet backing has light handling wear to the corners but no damage to speak of. This was once in a newspaper archive and there is a small article attached to the back which could be removed but overall this is a fantastic rarity. The Milwaukee Brewers would eventually be admitted to the Major Leagues and are the current incarnation of the Baltimore Orioles! This is one of only two known examples of this photo we could confirm the existence of.
