The pain of Bobby Thomson's home run in the final playoff game with the Dodgers took some time to get over. "The Shot Heard Round the World" ripped a piece of Dodgers fans' hearts out and the healing process was an individual event for each fan. Here that process officially began at Ebbets field, moments after the ball sailed over the fence as Dodgers officials burn their World Series tickets that would no longer be used. Boxes of the priceless treasures are loaded into a fire by ushers and one guy had the audacity to smile through it all! Taken by famous Dodgers team photographer Barney Stein and stamped on the back, this is an important piece of baseball history that we have never seen before! Condition is quite nice with some light corner wear and a crystal clear image.
