The Dodgers had to think they had something special coming into the 1932 season as they acquired an ace (Waite Hoyt), a slugger (Hack Wilson), and a speedster (Max Carey) to round out an already good team. Here Hack Wilson shows his bat to his new teammates and the trio looks optimistic about their prospects. They would improve to a record of 81-73, but finished third in the league. A rare photograph featuring three members of the Hall of Fame together and an especially fine image of Wilson who remains one of the more popular players of his era. Taken by Wide World Photos and stamped on the back with a large paper caption as well, this is the first original example of this image we have offered.
