1924 Was a great Baseball season and as the year wound down nothing was completely decided in the National League. As fate would have it the two teams that were fighting it out for the pennant would play each other in the end, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants. The cross-town showdown sent fans (and ticket prices) through the roof and for some die-hards the only way to get a glimpse was by risking life and limb. The offered image captures this frenzy as fans of the teams climb the Bleacher Wall at Ebbets Field to get a look. The Giants would take the pennant from the Dodgers, but lose the Series to the Washington Senators. Caption on the back refers to this series between the Giants and Dodgers as "the greatest game played!" Condition is nice overall and the image is crystal clear, issued by Acme and with a full paper caption on the back. A really cool image that could be hanging in a museum or gallery.
