The legend of Robert Johnson is the most incredible story in all of rock 'n roll. He made 29 recordings and most of what we know is folklore, but he was a real person who changed music forever. There are four or five images of Johnson known to exist and none that would qualify as "Vintage 1", making this example from an early retrospective in the 1970's about as good as it gets. This is his most famous image ever taken, showing him with a guitar in hand and despite being from the seventies, it is still only about 25-30 years from when the original was snapped. You will be hard pressed to find an older image of Johnson as he did not start to gain national popularity until the 1980's and 1990's!
