Perhaps nobody in American history had more influence over entertainment, pop culture, style, and the direction of an industry the way that Florence Ziegfeld did. He made or broke countless young ladies dreams, established industries around his Broadway shows, and constantly pushed the boundaries of sex on stage during the 1910's and roaring twenties. While he produced all the glitz and glamour in the world, he himself was an average looking man who was seldom photographed himself. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is a rare image of the man behind the scenes who dominated entertainment in America! There is a crease at the left (which has separated a bit at the top) and some pinholes, but it presents pretty well overall. He is also pictured in the photograph with his famous wife Billie Burke who would play the good witch in the 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz."
