1892 Large composite cabinet photograph of the Springfield, Massachusetts YMCA school in which the game of basketball was invented. Issued right about the same time, possibly even the same year, that the game of basketball was invented at the school, the photo includes 12 images, one of which is the only known photograph of the gymnasium interior where the game of basketball was invented. An important piece of sports history, this is the only example of any photograph showing the gym that we have ever seen!
