The 1927 "Long Count" fight between Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney is one of the most famous moments in all of sports history. The offered image shows the exact moment that controversy began. Dempsey had knocked Tunney to the canvas and instead of going to a neutral corner, he stayed at the corner nearest the action, delaying the start of the count just long enough to allow Tunney to stand (at what would have been the count of 14) and continue the fight, ultimately winning. The photo is in nice shape overall it presents well, capturing the exact moment of controversy for the first time we have ever seen in the hobby. The image was issued in the 1940's, likely in 1947 on the 20th anniversary of the event, but it has a ton of age to it and had the look and feel of a 1927 original.
