1910's Silver gelatin photograph of two workers cramming themselves into a canister to be lowered below the city of New York to continue construction on either the subway or the water system. A powerful and artistic image that is from the archives of Brown Brothers and despite some wear from editorial use, it looks better than the technical grade. It is incredible to think these guys did this everyday for their jobs!
