1944 Official military photograph of Marines hitting the beach as part of the first wave on Saipan. Identified on the back as the work of photographer James Burns, which is a cool touch, and the photo presents well with the purple text on the back from the military. There is some tape and wear at the edges from editorial use but the quality is perfect. A deep and poignant image that captures the tension of the invasion like few WWII images we have ever handled.
