1945 Vintage action photograph of Purdue University basketball superstar George Mikan as he drove to the rim for two of his 53 points on the night in which he set the single game scoring record for collegiate basketball. This was the finest night for the best basketball player of the era and this photograph is the only image from this game we have ever seen. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back, the photo is clear but has some wear (mostly at the upper right corner) and remnants of editorial paint from artistic use in publication. An important piece of basketball history that is being offered here for the first time ever!
