In 1948 Luis Colas hit .412 with the Memphis Red Sox. While he did not play in enough games to qualify as an official .400 hitter by MLB, he was an all-star and one of the top players in the waning days of the Negro Leagues. This is the only photograph of Colas we have ever handled and it captures him in uniform with the Cienfuegos team of Cuba about the same time he was playing in the Negro Leagues in America! Offered here for the first time ever!
