1927 Large and sweeping horizontal photograph of Babe Ruth crossing home plate and being congratulated by Lou Gehrig after belting a monster home run in the World Series. A bold image that presents well, this is from the archives of Underwood and Underwood and has their embossed "File Copy" stamp across Ruth's feet. There is chipping at the edges but the photographic portion is unaffected. It is difficult to ascertain whether this is off the original negative because all shots like this were taken from a distance, usually atop the bleachers, so a lack of clarity is par for the course. Generally the "File Copy" stamp indicates it IS off the original glass negative, but this appears to be made a from a duplicate negative in our opinion.
