Leroy Matlock was a prominent player in the Negro Leagues from 1929-1938 but photographic evidence of his career is almost non-existent. This 1942 photograph captures Matlock in uniform in the Mexican League with Veracruz and clearly shows his face as he attempts to make it to first base. This is one of the only action photographs of Matlock known to exist and it is being offered here for the first time ever.
