Large c. 1930-31 photograph of the nearly completed Empire State Building in New York City as it dominated the landscape of skyscrapers who were previously the big guys on the black. While the structure looks complete, the final spire at the top has not been put into place, dating this to late 1930 or early 1931. A sweeping masterpiece of photography with exceptional clarity, this is from Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back. The condition of the image is almost perfect with some minimal wear to the corners from age. One of the best New York City images that captures the Empire State Building that we have ever seen and offered here for the first time ever.
