1953 Stunning photograph of Evita Peron, the Argentinian first lady, as she shows off her collection of jewels for Magnum photographer Gisele Freund. The photograph caused quite a stir in the international community as it showed off the excesses of Peron during a turbulent time for the country. The photo is crystal clear and exceptionally clean with an important stamp on the back from Magnum and identifying Freund as the photographer. She is one of the more influential photographers of the era with quite the backstory and was forced out of Magnum in 1954 (by Robert Capa) during the red scare! A work of art that is among the best Magnum photographs we have ever offered and it is being presented here for the first time ever. The condition is essentially perfect with some extra scrapbook paper on the back from being mounted in a newspaper archive.
