1944 Photograph from the landing on D-Day that shows soldiers embarking toward their unknown fate by hitting the beach of Normandy on D-Day, June 6. A powerful work of photography by Robert Sargent that has gone down as one of the most important of all time, this is a 1969 restrike from the 25th anniversary of the event. What makes this example special however is the accompanying paper press releases from the United Press that comprise about ten pages of text and information! The condition of the photo and paper press releases are both quite nice.
