In one of the weirdest crimes of the Great Depression, a man named John Mills strangled his mother in front of an entire Pentecostal congregation during a revival as part of a human sacrifice. Three other woman were selected for sacrifice as well but the police showed up just in time. While the murder was a group effort, only Mills was convicted of murder while the others claimed they were in a helpless trance!
