1923 Sweeping photograph of the sleepy Montana town of Shelby which was transformed for a short time into the center of the sporting world as it hosted the Heavyweight Championship bout between jack Dempsey and Tommy Gibbons. A rare image of the town from high above that presents well and shows the site where the stadium would be built for the fight. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back, the photo has a crease and some pinholes from editorial use but it looks great with an X and an arrow showing where the ring would be located (added by an artist at the newspaper).
