Today the halftime show at the Super Bowl is one of the most important events of the year, but in 1975, the idea was still in it's infancy. The offered 1975 photograph from Super Bowl IX in fact was a tribute to the late Duke Ellington and had members of his band playing with the band from Grambling State. An incredibly important discovery, this is one of the first images to highlight the halftime show we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever from a local New Orleans newspaper archive. Condition and quality are both outstanding.
