George Uhle was one of the best young pitchers in baseball and a 200 game winner, but when this picture was taken in 1928, he was being coveted by the New York Yankees. The paper caption on the back notes that the Yankees were offering Cedric Durst in exchange. Issued by the International News and with a full paper caption as well, this is one of his better images we have offered and even though this was taken just nine years into his career, Uhle was essentially done as a star. The condition is great and the quality of this image is perfect.
