1919 Photograph of brand new World Series champion Slim Sallee of the Cincinnati Reds as he spends some time on his farm with friend George Burns of the New York Giants as the pair shows off some hogs they had just slaughtered. Taken only a few months after the Black Sox World Series, it would have been fun to hang out with these two and listen to some of the stories on this hunting trip! Stamped on the back by famous Cincinnati photographer J.R. Schmidt and offered here for the first time ever, the photo looks great but has some pinholes from editorial use.
